• 2/3 HP Chiller: Ideal for 150 gallons; cools water from 72°F to 38°F in about 5-6 hours. Average Cooling Rate: ~6-9°F per hour.
• 1 HP Chiller: Ideal for 200 gallons; cools water from 72°F to 37°F in about 5-6 hours. Average Cooling Rate: ~6-9°F per hour.

These estimates assume an ambient temperature of around 86°F. If the surrounding temperature is higher or you're using a larger tub, cooling might take more time. Conversely, smaller tubs may cool down more quickly. Using an insulated tub helps retain cold temperatures more effectively.

Simply inflate the Ice Tub Pro using the supplied electric pump, connect the inlet and outlet pipes to the Chiller unit using simple hand-tight valves, and turn on the chiller. For optimal benefits, follow this evidence-based protocol:

• Target 12-15 minutes total per week, spread across 2-5 sessions
• Each session should last 2-5 minutes
• Beginners: Start with 1-3 minutes per session and at higher temperatures
• Advanced users can extend to 5-8 minutes

For optimal results, plunge at 39-40°F. But listen to your body and don't fret if 45-55°F feels better or manageable to you (especially when beginner or 45+).

For best results:

• Submerge to shoulders (keeping head above water)
• Don't fight the cold—allow natural shivering response

• Exit when you've reached your planned duration

Important: Cold exposure should be uncomfortable but safe. If you're new to cold plunging, gradually build up your tolerance.

Note: Avoid cold plunging within 6 hours after strength training, as that might affect hypertrophy (unless, for example, you're in competition mode and looking to just recover quicker). Morning sessions are ideal for most people.
